How to make the perfect Chocolate-Pistachio Tartufo

Ingredients:
For the Ice Cream Layers:
- 2 cups chocolate ice cream
- 2 cups pistachio ice cream
For the Chocolate Shell:
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
For Garnish (Optional):
- ¼ cup crushed pistachios
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Ice Cream Layers
- Let the chocolate and pistachio ice creams soften at room temperature for about 5–10 minutes.
- Line a muffin tin or small bowls with plastic wrap.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of pistachio ice cream into each mold, pressing it into an even layer.
- Add 2 tablespoons of chocolate ice cream on top, pressing slightly.
- Freeze for at least 2 hours until firm.
Step 2: Make the Chocolate Shell
- Melt dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Let the chocolate cool slightly but remain pourable.
Step 3: Coat the Tartufo
- Remove the frozen ice cream balls from the molds and place them on a wire rack.
- Pour the melted chocolate over each tartufo, coating them completely.
- Quickly sprinkle with crushed pistachios before the chocolate hardens.
- Freeze for 30 minutes until the shell is set.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Let the tartufo sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.
